Our world is in desperate need of peace! When the scriptures talk about peace, they mean more than we do by the word. We tend of think of peace in terms of an absence of conflict. But biblical peace encompasses far more: a fullness of God's presence and favor in our lives. Shalom. The long-awaited messiah was prophesied to be the Prince of Peace. And then Jesus's birth was announced by angels heralding peace on earth. Shalom. In this teaching, we look at the peace of God available to us through Jesus and consider its upward, inward, and outward dimensions in our lives. How can you welcome God's shalom and express it to those around you during Advent?
