That's right, PHYSICAL distancing, not social distancing! We're still being plenty social, friends. Here are some ideas I got from a friend that I share with you for your family, friends, and neighbors!
- Are you missing sportsball? Did you know NFL Game Pass is free until May 30? They have every NFL game from this season and several years before. You can even watch the (best) Super Bowl (ever) without timeouts and commercial interruptions!
- The Metropolitan Opera is streaming many operas for free online. Turn up the volume! Turn it up! UP! UP! Your neighbors will thank you.
- Or take a stroll through a famous museum. You can virtually tour these 500 museums from your couch.
- Listen to a book. Audible is offering free stories to stream; no account needed. To get to C. S. Lewis’ books, scroll down to the Teen category (yes, teen!) and click on “More” just above the age level row.
- Want to do something crafty? You could make these little “zines” for your kids and/or grandkids and inspire them to make them for you.
- Do you feel like the world is ugly? Here is a poet talking about beauty from a Christian perspective to an audience made up of poets generally. Dana Gioia may be the only professional poet with an MBA from Stanford! Watch him here.
- Need some inspiration on cooking up dinner with what you have on hand? I love watching Clara show how many survived the depression and cook some tasty, basic meals. Subscribe to her family’s YouTube channel. You will want to view all the videos!
Lastly, Disney experiences available on YouTube!
Some are better than others. Beware: It’s A Small World is just as mind-numbing on video as it is in person, or so I hear!!!
- Space Mountain in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
- Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- It’s A Small World in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom.
- Frozen Ever After at Epcot.
- The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at California Adventure, Disneyland.
- Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom.
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot.
